The Zone Diet Information is that your body hasn’t evolved as quickly as the foods we consume have. When human civilizations first formed during pre-historical periods, there were no breads, grains or pasta. The diets of early hunter-gatherers consisted mostly of lean protein, fruits that are high in fiber, and natural carbohydrates that come from fruits and vegetables. As time passed and complex societies evolved grains and pasta began to take a larger role in our diets. Unfortunately our bodies didn’t change as rapidly as our foods. As a result our bodies became less healthy, we feel tired, lack mental focus, and after prolonged time periods, we begin to suffer more serious side effects like heart disease and diabetes. With the zone diet the foods you eat are selected to give your body what it is looking for.
