Many people today are looking for ways to keep their youthful appearance, without the expense and invasive surgery of a traditional face lift. One option is an electric face lift which is offered by many day spas or health clubs.

The process starts like a typical facial with an exfoliation and extraction. You will then wear a leather strap mask with electrodes placed at different points on your face. To even out the process you normally have vitamin enriched fabric cloths directly against your skin.

Once everything is secure for the next 20 to 30 minutes the electrodes will be stimulated by a low voltage electric current. The current isn’t painful but you may feel a tingling sensation in your face. In technical terms the process is called iontophoresis, a process which goes back nearly 100 years. The electric current speeds up the circulation, the vitamin enriched strips nourish the skin. The outmost layer goes through a process known as electrical exfoliation where dead surface skin cells are replaced by newer one beneath the surface.

Once the treatment is completed you should see a noticeable difference right away in the mirror. Your skin should appear both cleaner and tighter, and much more youthful. However the process doesn’t last forever and will need to be performed again in a few weeks.
