Day Spa – Etiquette

If you’ve never visted a day or health spa it can be intimidating. Here’s a list of helpful etiquette tips
- When booking a spa service/treatment ask if you need to prepare in advance for any aspect of the service (showering in advance, wearing no makeup).
- Before reserving a spa treatment ask if there are any medical restrictions, especially if you have any heart, or neck issues, or are pregnant.
- Be sure you are on time for your treatment – or if you have to cancel be sure to give at least 24 hours notice.
- Do not bring any family members/children/friends to the spa on your day of treatment. Only persons having treatments that day will be allowed access to the facility.
- Limit the personal items you bring to the spa. You will be assigned a locker to be used during the day of your treatment, but they are not always very large. Only bring what you feel is necessary for that day.
- When you meet your spa technician, express any concerns or health issues that you feel are important.
- If you are uncomfortable at any time, advise your technician immediately.
- Be courteous to other spa customers – avoid use of cell phones, loud talking or rude language when at the spa.
- When paying for your services, remember to tip for good service (15-20%) is customary.
