A lot of people are interested in diet pills as it’s sounds just so easy. – Eat what you want and do no exercise, then pop a pill or two and drop off all the weight again – or not even gain it.

But does it work? Just taking some pills will not give you the benefits of eating healthily and getting plenty of exercise. There are many problems outside gaining weight that come from a poor diet and no exercise. Most diet pills are only for the short- to medium-term use and shall help you lose your weight by getting used to your exercise and a new nutrition and eating plan. After some months they should be taken off as most pills (as all medications) have potentially negative side-effects and should alaways be taken with caution.

We follow up with some famous diet pill comparision:

Phentermine, Adipex, Ionamin

Phentermine suppresses your appetite so you feel less hungry. It works by changing levels of brain chemicals (neurotransmitters) that affect mood and appetite. It may also slightly increase the rate at which your body burns calories. Most people take the drug for 3-6 weeks; the length of treatment depends on how you respond to the medication. Phentermine can be habit-forming. Do not take a larger dose, take it more often, or for a longer period than your doctor tells you to.

Adipex is a sympathomimetic amine, which is similar to an amphetamine. It is also known as an “anorectic” or “anorexigenic” drug. Adipex stimulates the central nervous system (nerves and brain), which increases your heart rate and blood pressure and decreases your appetite. Adipex is also used as a short-term supplement to diet and exercise in the treatment of obesity.

Ionamin is a popular brand name for the weight loss diet pill phentermine, thereby considerably more expensive.

Phentermine Adipex Ionamin are all diet pills that shall not be taken over a longer period of time.

Bontril, Phendimetrazine

Bontril is the brand name the generic Phendimetrazine , produced by Carnrick Laboratories Inc. Bontril is an appetite suppressant and central nervous system stimulant. It stimulates the satiety (feeling of fullness) centre in the hypothalamus and limbic regions of the brain. It is also available as a slow release version called Bontril SR
The generic Phendimetrazine is also related to an amphetamine, Phendimetrazine is a sympathomimetic amine. It functions by stimulating your central nervous system (brain and nerves) to increase your heart rate and slow down your appetite.

Didrex

Didrex is one of the leading diet pills most effective against obesity. It works by reducing the amount of fat in the bloodstream, even before it is added to the fat cells. It works also to reduce the amount of leptin in your bloodstream – the “obesity” hormone.

Tenuate , Diethylpropion

Tenuate with it’s active generic ingredient Diethylpropion is another appetite suppressant pill, that is also prescribed for short-term use (a few weeks) as part of an overall diet plan for weight reduction. It is available in controlled-release tablets. Tenuate should be used with a behavior modification program. Diethylpropion will lose its effectiveness within a few weeks. When this begins to happen, you should discontinue the medicine rather than increase the dosage.

Meridia, Sibutramine

Meridia with it’s active generic ingredient Sibutramine affects chemicals in the body that are related to weight maintenance and is used as a short-term supplement to diet and exercise in the treatment of obesity. Just in June 2005 a study was released that shows the effectiveness of Meridia in combination with a low calorie diet.
