A new trend combines travel with fitness – City Running Tours. If you are visiting a city for business or vacation, or perhaps want to explore more of your own city, look to these innovative running tours.

A tour guide takes you on a running, sight-seeing tour of the city. These tours are currently available in New York City, Chicago and Washington, DC, but will soon be available in cities nationwide.

Whether you are a recreational runner or training for a martahon, City Running Tours will gear the run to your level. You choose the sights you want to see throughout the city, as well as the distance – City Running Tours handles the rest.

For example in NYC, you can choose a 1.58 mile Reservoir Run at Central Park or take a 10 mile run through Brooklyn from Greenwood Cemetery to Prospect Park.

The price is $60 per person for the first six miles, which includes the City Running Tours guide, choice of an existing route or custom-designed tour, a City Running Tours t-shirt, souvenir photo, discounts to local running stores and product samples.

After the inital six miles, it’s $6 per person for each additional mile. Discounts are available for groups of four or more.

Also, City Running Tours gives 10% of the total fee donated to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Visit the City Running Tours website for more information or to book your tour. You can also call the ticketing company Zerve toll-free at 800-979-3370.
