Rachael LawrenceThe Zone Diet, developed by Dr. Barry Sears, is a diet plan that many people have found successful in recent years.

This diet plan combines a balance of protein, good carbs and healthy fats to keep you energized and feeling full throughout the day.

People around the world from celebrities to regular people like you and I have found much success on the Zone Diet.

Beautiful actress Rachael Lawrence of the new VH1 comedy series “I Hate My 30’s” was kind enough to offer us at Shapespot these exclusive tips for those on the Zone Diet or really any type of diet plan.

Portion control. Even though you are eating a balanced meals of carbs, fat, and protein, it doesn’t mean you can just eat as much as you want. Just because things are marked “fat free” or “sugar free” doesn’t mean it’s “guilt free.” Eat until you are satisfied, not full. If you wait 10 minutes after you put that fork down, you’ll see that you actually don’t need that second helping

Drink lots of water. Stay away from sodas and juices that are high in sugar.

Eat clean. Don’t cover your food in creams and salt. You will find a new love for the way food really tastes without all the extras. Sometimes just a little dressing or a dab of olive oil can go a long way!

Reward yourself! It’s okay to treat yourself now and then. Just remember that if you do, it doesn’t justify a pig out session. You’ll feel guilty afterwards and you’ll just have to work harder to feel better.

Exercise regularly. A combination of cardio and weights/resistance training at least 3 times a week should do the trick.

Thanks for the tips, Rachael and good luck with the new series.
